about
pavilion 13 history

Pavilion 13 Coal was built in 1967 at the Exhibition Centre VDNG in Kyiv as an exhibition space for promoting the achievements of the coal industry of the Ukrainian SSR

Its architecture originally consisted of a large exhibition hall used for permanent exhibitions, a cinema hall and a hall connecting the above-ground part with an underground replica of the mine

In 2019, Vasily Grogol and the BURSA Hotel Kyiv team initiated the idea of establishing a contemporary art centre in Pavilion 13. This concept later evolved into what is now the Pavilion of Culture
